Experience the grandest Dinagyang Festival 2018 at SM City Iloilo!

Great happenings are coming your way this festival season to your favorite lifestyle and entertainment destination.

Trade fairs are set January 22-28 at the lower ground floor near (Bacolod LechonHaus).These trade fairs will showcase the best of Western Visayas products and destinations.Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iloilo with the support of the Department of Tourism Region 6 (DOT VI), will hold the Iloilo 2018 Trade Fair during the said dates. The exhibit will feature the different beautiful destinations of Western Visayas and will offer information to tourists who will visit the booths. A DinagyangThrough the Years photo exhibit at the upper ground floor near H & M is also scheduled on these dates.

Lagaw Ta Pinas Travel Expo is also situated on the lower ground floor to cater information to tourists needing assistance travelling to Western Visayas and the neighboring regions.Songs and dances from the different regions in the Philippines through Fiesta Pilipinas will also brought to us by DOT VI.

A Tourist Assistance Center is also at the lower ground floor Northpoint area to cater to inquiries from tourists who visit the mall.

A Dinagyang Festival Sale will also be on January 22-28. Shoppers can avail up to 70% discount as they enjoy the happenings in the mall.

In support of the art culture and artists of Iloilo, the HUGYAW Art exhibit was mounted January 19 and will last until the 29^th of the month. Organized by HIMBON art group with the support of Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc and Department of Tourism 6, it features works by Ilonggo artist, masters and contemporary ones.

The 9^thLuces in the Sky will color the skies with a grand fireworks display on January 26 at 10pm. Started 9 years ago by the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc, the Iloilo City Government and SM City Iloilo, the spectacular display of lights is a yearly attraction looked forward by the mallgoers and tourists in the mall.

January 26 is also a world-class event as the International Cultural Night will bring New Zealand, South Kore and Hawaii performers together in one stage at SM Cinema 6 at 6pm.

The biggest and the grandest food festival and street party in town is the Dinagyang Hawkers Food Festival and it will happen January 25-28. Enjoy the festival fever with good music, food and drinks at the SM Southpoint with local and Manila bands taking care of the entertainment.

Also, Konsyerto para saTorismo will feature local artists that will bring out and showcase Iloilo Pride to the visitors on January 26.

The biggest party is also happening at the Southpoint on the 27^th with the Dinagyang Sunset Festival as top DJs InnoNaguit, Mike Alvarez, DJ Leandro Zayco and the Patiqueros, DJ Kreng and Mike Martinez lead the party 3pm onwards at the Southpoint. To elevate the heat, Solenn Heussaff will join the party at 11pm.

The party in SM Southpoint will also feature 6 Cycle Mind and Hashtag KC on January 25; Iloilo Teen Bands, DenonSeron, DJ Chacha and Kyle Vergara and Darren Espanto on January 26.

The Kapuso Fiesta will bring Lauren Young, Glaiza de Castro, and Jack Roberto on January 28. The party will be capped off by Silent Sanctuary at 11pm.

GCash scan to pay rolls out in transport industry

GCash is expanding its scan to pay feature in the transport industry through a partnership with Emotors, Inc. Emotors, Inc. is the operator of Zum e-Series which provides e-shuttle service for tenants and employees of the W Group, Globe Telecom, and Mynt.

"This is just the beginning of our foray into the transport sector. Wherever cash is used, we want to offer a quick and hassle-free alternative,” said Ernest Cu, chief executive officer of Globe Telecom. Globe, together with Ant Financial and Ayala Corp., owns Mynt, the financial technology company which operates GCash mobile wallet service.

Globe Telecom's collaboration with Emotors, Inc. is hinged on three factors: innovative technology, clean and sustainable electric transport, and the demand for services that avoid commuting pain points.

Emotors, Inc. is a hundred-percent Filipino-owned social enterprise committed to environmental sustainability through the Zum e-Series, an electric tricycle that can seat six passengers. Compared to traditional vehicles, the electric tricycle is quiet, economical, and emits a lower carbon footprint.

Through the service, commuters can enjoy cashless payments by scanning the QR code provided by the pilots. GCash’s scan to pay feature is the only mode of payment available.

The Zum e-Series offers point-to-point transport from the WCC Building to Market! Market! and vice versa.

To use the scan to pay feature, customers must simply download or update the GCash app on their smartphone, tap or point the phone’s camera at the QR code, and input the amount to be paid.

Customers can load their GCash wallet in any of the 12,000 GCash partner outlets nationwide, including Globe Stores, SM Business Centers, Robinsons Business Centers, Puregold branches, 7-Eleven Barcode Cash In, TouchPay kiosks, and many more.

GCash aims to make cashless payments the preferred choice of payment as it eliminates the hassle of bringing money and waiting for change. Merchants don’t need to pay for expensive equipment and will only need a QR sticker linked to a GCash wallet.

To date, GCash has partnered with top establishments like Ayala Malls, Robinsons Department Stores, SM Stores, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, Ministop, Mercato Centrale, among others. GCash will soon roll out to the parking segment with a partnership with Megaworld’s Uptown Mall.
